Wood Louver A/C Unit Screen

Are you tired of seeing your A/C unit in your beautiful garden or patio? Want to hide that ‘less than attractive’ pool equipment? Cover up that unsightly house equipment with an outdoor wood louver AC unit screen. The screen is robust, but it can be lifted out of the way if work is required on the unit.

The cedar slats are angled to give a louvered look and allow for essential air flow to the A/C unit.

You’ll need to evaluate the size of screen needed for your equipment and area. The plans allow for about 1 foot clearance around my unit. Adjust the plans for your area A/C unit requirements. The more clearance the better for air flow to the air conditioning condenser.

DIY Football Toss

Hi and welcome to the Home Depot DIY Workshop (Do it yourself) Virtual Game Party!  My kids are beyond excited about today’s project.  They have been very eager to help build this project!  Before we get to my project, this is the fun Father’s Day Football Toss project for June’s DIY workshop at your local Home Depot on Saturday, June 18 from 10-11:30 am.

Father's Day Football Toss

Here is what you’ll learn at the free demonstrative workshop:  Learn to build an outdoor football toss game. Join our workshop and learn to properly measure and accurately cut wood; safely operate both circular and reciprocating saws and a drill; and paint or stain your project like a champ with grid lines straight from the gridiron. The end result will be the skills to craft an outdoor game that will keep your family entertained all summer long.

Like many kids (and grown up kids 😉 ), my kids love those little angry birds and bad piggies!  When I saw little foam footballs at The Home Depot, inspiration struck.  I thought it would be fun to make an Angry Bird inspired, ‘angry football’ toss game.

DIY Flower Pot Stand

Today’s project isn’t very impressive, but it is something that I have been really needing to build for my flower pots by the porch.  I have a few of these Bloom Master hanging pots for cascading flowers, they are what inspired the pallet planter box.

I intended to hang my baskets from shepherds hooks by my front porch.  However when my large baskets are planted, they are too heavy and the hook can’t hold them.  (Note: My Mom has the medium baskets and the shepherds hooks work fine.)

So I needed a little stand to get the baskets up off the ground and then beautiful flowers can cascade down!  This stand is really simple and is inspired by a couple of planter stands from West Elm, this and this.  I wanted my stands fairly tall to allow the Wave petunias to trail, you can easily adjust the height according to your needs.

Perfect stand to raise my flower pots up for cascading flowers. Really simple flower pot stand that you can build for about $4, free plans.

It doesn’t look like much now, but in a couple of months it’ll look awesome!
