“Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Clause, right down Santa Claus lane…”
Welcome guests with a DIY Santa Sleigh “that’s filled with toys for boys and girls again”.
This post contains some affiliate links for your convenience. Click here to read my full disclosure policy.
This fun DIY Santa sleigh is made from a sheet of 3/4″ plywood and a 1×3 board. You’ll need to dust off your jigsaw to cut out all of the pieces, don’t worry there is a free printable template for the sleigh. It makes a great DIY Christmas decoration and/or a photo prop for the kiddies!
I put pre-lit present decorations in my sleigh and it puts off a cheery glow at night.
How will you finish your DIY Santa Sleigh? The body of my sleigh is painted in Rustoleum Apple Red, trim is Rustoleum Metallic Gold and the runners are in Decoart Chalky Finish Carbon. I cheated with the gold pin stripe and used gold glitter washi tape!
You can grab the FREE printable pattern along with the step by step tutorial on Ryobi Nation.
Now for the fun, Ryobi Power Tools is generously sponsoring a giveaway for $300 in Ryobi Power Tools. The giveaway ends at the end of Dec 2016, that way the winner can pick the power tools from their wish list that they didn’t receive in their stocking!

I printed the sleigh pattern but there is no printable pattern for the Cut Diagram for the bottom of the sleigh?
Amy says
Hi, sorry it’s in the 3rd step. There isn’t a pattern for the bottom and front, they are rectangles cut to this size: “Also cut 1 front 16 ½” x 10” and 1 bottom 16 ½” x 25 ½”.”

Hi, Do you have a dxf file for the sleigh?
Mike Blades says
I’ve made a few of these from your webpage…They are fun to build, but… I’ve not been able to cut the sleigh runners to match the contour of the sleigh side. What is the secret?
Theresa Thomson says
Hi I live in Scotland and would love to make this for the kids that pass my home to go to and from school. Every year I try and make my garden bright and christmasy for them. Could you please do a plan for the runners of this sleigh.
Thank you so much
Regards
Theresa
Amy says
