For the last few years, I've cut wood slices to make placement medals for the local nature center's annual Fly with the Flock fun run. This year as I was cutting the wood slices for the fun run, I thought that they would be fun for a Cub Scout Pinewood Derby medal. I volunteer with the local cub scouts, and whipped these up for the boys. I think the boys liked their medals, … [Read more...]
Rustic Barnwood Twin Bed Plan
Late last summer my Dad called me up and told me that they are leveling Remo's barn. (Each section of the family farm is named after whomever they acquired it from over the years, Lee Halls, Ray's, Henry's, Neeley's, Remo's, etc that's how we roll :-) ) Remo's was a sizable area with a little farm yard on it. He had built a big hay barn back in his day, but over the years it … [Read more...]
DIY photo backdrops
I love the granite in my kitchen. I think that it's called Typhoon Bordeaux, it has these beautiful rusty-red and charcoal swirls all through out a creamy base. But one thing that I've learned about my granite, is that it is a TERRIBLE backdrop for photos! It is very evident with my Simple Circuit photo, are there even wires in that picture? It's like camo :-) I have … [Read more...]

The pattern is split onto two pages, … [Read more...]

I made them for my neighbor gift for Christmas. Since then I've found another link to I think the 'original' Behold Block creater. I believe she sells them here. Definitely the cutest ones out … [Read more...]

The Map Dresser
I saw this map dresser on the Nate Berkus show, and I knew that I had to make one for my son's room. I started looking for cheap dressers on the local (ksl) classifieds and craigslist. There were lots of options, but the cheap/cute ones go fast, some within 15 minutes. I ended up getting a changing table/dresser that my mom was getting rid of...or maybe I just convinced her … [Read more...]
